Cricket's own unlock policy

  • Bought on or after July 1, 2026: at least 365 days of paid service on the device. Bought before: at least six months.
  • Locked to Cricket, not reported lost or stolen, not tied to fraud.

When the carrier unlocks it for free, use that.

If your phone meets Cricket's requirements, ask Cricket to unlock it — it's free. Use us when you can't wait, the phone was bought used, or it doesn't meet the rules yet (for example, there's still a balance).

We don't have a standing Cricket route yet. Run the free check: if we can take it, the price shows before you pay; if not, you pay nothing.

Where do I find my IMEI?
  • Type *#06# in the phone's built-in Phone app. It pops up as you type the last # — don't press call.
  • iPhone: Settings › General › About › IMEI
  • Android: Settings › About phone › IMEI (some phones: Status)
  • No luck? It's printed on the SIM tray or the original box.
